Third time’s the charm?

blog announcement

I blogged for about a year in 2008 and then my blog disappeared. Truly. Trust me, it was tragic.

Then I blogged for about 5 more years at Diapers and Divinity and, man, that was good times.

But then my kids weren’t in diapers anymore, and I had begun writing books and teaching college classes part-time, so the blog fizzled and it was time to do something else for a while.

Now, I’m taking a break from teaching and I feel like I need a place for my words again. I’m dabbling in new book ideas, and sometimes I have more to say (or process) than there’s room for on Facebook or Twitter. (I am SO bad at Twitter. 140 characters? *snort*)

Anyway, welcome to Word to the Wise. I’ve decided to use this scripture as my guide:

For, for this intent have we written these things, that they may know that we knew of Christ, and we had a hope of his glory many hundred years before his coming; and not only we ourselves had a hope of his glory, but also all the holy prophets which were before us. –Jacob 4:4

I hope to share matters of testimony, thoughts on talks or scripture, keeping-it-real learning, and the rocky road of discipleship, motherhood, womanhood—sometimes deep, sometimes laughable. I make no promises about frequency or even quality, but I hope you’ll find it a safe and uplifting place to visit.

You can subscribe by email at the bottom of this page to get new posts in your inbox, or I’ll also be linking to new posts from my Facebook and Twitter accounts.

  1. I am soooo happy I almost cried. I still might. I bought your book, Covenant Motherhood when it came out. I started reading it, loved it, but did not finish it. I found myself tumbling through some really tough, dark times and the book got set aside. I am now beginning to slowly climb back up the mountain. One thing that became clear to me was that I needed to study motherhood. I dug your book out. Today I sat down to begin again at the begining.

I have isolated myself from the world as I try to heal. I decided however, that I would take a peak and see what you are up too as I have deeply missed your blog. It was the only thing that kept me going at times. I can not contain the joy and excitement I feel that you are once again blogging. I look forward to every post. You always inspire me to see the light. You exemplify what I hope to become…a women who delights in the divinity of motherhood, and diligently seeks learning, walks with faith, and humor, and humbly testifies of her Savior, unapologeticly, to all the world. Thank you for your example.
